Privacy Policy

ActOnMac is built to collect as little as possible. The app does its work on your Mac, and your files, images, text and clipboard never leave it.
What the Mac app never collects
- Your files, images or their contents.
- File names, folder names or paths.
- Text you select, or anything on your clipboard. ActOnMac reads the clipboard only at the moment you press its shortcut, and never stores or logs it. Clipboards marked as concealed by password managers are ignored.
- Usage analytics, crash analytics or telemetry of any kind.
What the Mac app sends, and when
ActOnMac contacts actonmac.xyz only for licensing:
- Activation (once per Mac): your activation token, an anonymous device ID (a one-way SHA-256 hash derived from your Mac's hardware identifier; the identifier itself is never sent), your Mac's name as set in System Settings (so you can recognise it on your license page), and the app version.
- License check (about once a week, when online): the signed license file, so a refunded or removed activation can be turned off. If the check can't connect, nothing happens and the app keeps working.
- Deactivation (when you choose it): the signed license file.
What the website and purchase system store
- Purchase record: the checkout session ID, amount, currency and, when available, the email used at checkout. This is used to deliver your license and to help you restore access.
- Activations: the anonymous device ID, Mac name, app version and timestamps for each Mac you activate.
- Server logs: standard request logs kept by the hosting provider for operating and securing the service. No advertising or analytics cookies are used, and the site sets no tracking cookies.
Payments
Checkout is provided by HandyPay, with card payments processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to them and are never seen or stored by ActOnMac. Their privacy policies apply to the payment itself.
If you contact support or use “Restore access”, your email address is used to reply and to send your license link. It is not used for marketing and is never sold or shared.
Service providers
The website and purchase system run on Railway (hosting and database). App downloads are delivered from GitHub. If email restore is enabled, messages are sent through an email delivery provider. These providers process data only to provide their service.
Your choices
You can ask for your purchase and activation records to be deleted, or for a copy of them, by emailing nathanjhsn@icloud.com. Deleting them means the license can no longer be restored or managed online.
Children
ActOnMac isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes to what the Mac app sends will also be noted in the app's release notes.
